My Project

Creative, silly, inquisitive, caring, kind...these are all words I would use to describe my third grade students. In our classroom, learning takes place not only at desks, but everywhere else you can imagine: on the floor, against bookshelves, in the hallway, and more. This year I hope to support my students' learning by providing flexible seating options.

Research has shown that flexible seating allows young learners to become more engaged and focused.

This grant will allow my students to learn, create, and experiment wherever they feel the most comfortable. The items include rocking bucket seats (great for getting lost in a book!), wiggle cushions, clipboards, and even paper bags to make sit spots.
