Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every one of my students are unique and come into the classroom with their own stories. They all have their strengths and their own set of challenges that makes learning at times difficult. But every student in my class has one thing in common: a love for learning.

My 24 students come from a range of demographic backgrounds even though they all live in the same city and go to the same school.

I have students who have ADHD, experienced severe trauma, lost loved ones, and much more. However, all of my students are capable of learning anything they set their minds to with the right supports from myself and our school. It's my job to help prepare my students to be successful, well-rounded, caring adults.

This year COVID-19 has put a dent in some of our plans however, but I am hoping you can help!

My Project

Students need to move. COVID-19 has made that very difficult to do in our classroom and school. That is why my hope is I could receive these flexible seating options for not only for my students on IEPs, but for all the children who just get a bit wiggly in their seats after 8 hours of school.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement by giving them the opportunity to move around in a year where that option is limited.

The bouncing balls, clipboards and lap desks will allow students to be able to work in their designated areas or areas in our classroom where they can safely socially distance. They would even help during our small group times. The timers are for students to use at my calm down desk. The headphones can help some of my students who do not have any to either cancel out noise or use to watch our educational videos. Students who can move around to de-stress, stay comfortable or bounce a little will more likely be able to stay focused and succeed in school.
