Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Can you imagine sitting in one chair all day long? Can you imagine what that must feel like to a 5 or 6 year old? Flexible seating options would provide opportunities for my students to utilize the entire classroom and choose seating arrangements that would best meet their learning styles. It would allow students to improve their focus, engagement, and motivation to learn.

Flexible seating options would provide many benefits for my students such as improved decision making skills, better focus, and increased engagement.

Students LOVE to choose special seats/cushions! They enjoy working on the floor (in the middle of the classroom or in a corner) working collaboratively with their friends. Students are more engaged and usually more focused on tasks when they are allowed to choose a special working space and flexible seating.

Every student is special and should be provided with tools to promote a positive and engaging learning environment. Your generous support to fund this project will provide my students with tools to promote their participation, persistence, and engagement in their learning process. In addition, the flexible seating options will help my students develop skills focusing on communication, self-regulation and problem solving.
