Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our mission is to prepare students for higher learning in a safe, caring, and collaborative atmosphere through a quality learner-centered educational program with a strong emphasis on math, science, engineering, and technology.

SST’s vision is to enable students to succeed in school and in the workplace and to provide an option for students to enter math, science, and engineering careers.

This will lead to students becoming productive and responsible citizens and even Nobel laureates.

My Project

As adults, we cannot sit in the same place for more than 7 hours comfortably, so why do we expect 10-11 year-olds to do the same?

Studies prove that flexible seating is not only a great option but a necessary change to improve health and learning.

Flexible seating is sitting: on the floor (carpeted or tile), over/under a blanket, pillow, or lap-sized bean bag, on a couch, on stools that move up and down, on bouncy balls, on scoop rocker chairs, on raised chairs, standing, or even lying down on their tummies or backs!

These bean bag chairs, sit spots, and supply caddies will give my students more options in their learning by adding variations of seating in the classroom environment. My students will benefit greatly from a change in the typical American classroom.
