Last year was my first year in fourth grade. I learned many things throughout the year and reflected on how I wanted to establish my classroom environment for this year. The major idea I reflected on was how students' engagement with learning was inconsistent. As I began to think about the factors related to low student engagement, I thought of my presentation of content when teaching. I also thought of the length of time that students are expected to sit at their desks and learn.
Flexible seating allows for students to create their own learning space that increases academic success.
It has been proven that when students move, there is an increase of oxygen flow which makes them more alert. I believe that with your help, my classroom environment can transform into one of choice that promotes success!
