My Project

During independent work times, desks are fine, but as a foreign language teacher and an AVID teacher who will guide the same group of students for four years, flexible seating is a must. Currently, when working on group projects, I notice that my students opt for sitting on the floor. I believe by including more comfortable options, they will be able to focus more on the tasks they are presented with.

Not only will flexible seating allow students to be more comfortable, and therefore more calm and engaged in the classroom, but I also believe it to be beneficial to have an area available for them to decompress, reduce stress, and improve their mental well-bring.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options away from their desks. The floor couch would provide more room for students to sit comfortably with friends. Additionally, the beanbag chair and floor pillows offer more flexible seating, but they are more lightweight and portable and can be easily used in different areas of the classroom.

I hope that with more flexible seating, my students will be more comfortable, feel like it is a safe space for learning, and not have to sit on the hard floor anymore.
