This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a third-grade teacher at a Title 1 school dedicated to providing quality education and support to a diverse group of students. I am seeking support to provide four flexible seating stools, specifically wobble seats, for my energetic third-grade students.

My classroom is filled with curious and social learners who thrive when they can move and interact during lessons.

Traditional seating often restricts their natural energy and desire to explore, which can impact their focus and engagement. Flexible seating options like wobble stools offer a simple yet effective solution that caters to their need for movement while promoting a more dynamic learning environment.

Wobble seats allow students to wiggle and shift their weight, which helps to channel their energy into productive movement, enhancing their focus and engagement during lessons. This can be especially beneficial for my students, many of whom are English language learners or have different learning needs.

The stools support core strength and posture, encourage better circulation, and provide sensory input, all of which contribute to improved concentration and academic performance. Additionally, flexible seating fosters a sense of autonomy and responsibility as students learn to choose the seating that best supports their individual learning styles.

With these wobble stools, I aim to create an inclusive and adaptable classroom that meets my students' diverse needs, helping them stay engaged and reach their full academic potential.
