My Project

Help Us Get the Wiggles Out!

My students are active learners who thrive when given choice and movement in their day.

I teach a hardworking group of second-grade special education inclusion students in a Title I school. Every child in my classroom brings unique strengths and challenges, and I am committed to creating a learning environment that meets their needs.

The Problem We’re Solving:

Sitting at traditional desks all day can be uncomfortable and limiting for my students. Many of my learners need opportunities for movement to stay engaged, focused, and ready to learn. Without flexible seating options, it’s harder for them to release their energy and take ownership of their learning environment.

Why Flexible Seating?

Flexible seating will give my students the ability to choose a spot that helps them learn best. These seating options will:

-Improve focus and engagement by allowing for movement.

-Support sensory needs for my special education students.

-Create a collaborative, student-centered classroom environment.

The Impact:

Flexible seating is more than just fun—it transforms learning. By meeting my students’ physical and sensory needs, these seating options will help them stay comfortable, focused, and confident as they work to achieve their academic goals.
