My Students

My class is energetic, kind, and curious. Each one of my 27 students is unique. We have students from different backgrounds and families, and with very different personalities.

In our class, we work together, building on each other’s strengths.

We make mistakes and keep trying. My students practice patience. They are learning to be resilient problem-solvers. They are learning to access information through technology. They are learning how to collaborate with groups. They are learning to be kind and responsible people in a social and interconnected world.

My Project

Our class needs comfortable new seating for 21st century students and how they learn. Some students work best with a group, to think together and problem solve. Some students prefer to work alone or with just one partner.

Our seats need to work for many different activities and for my students' different learning styles.

Each day we have time to read alone and in small book groups. We have time to use technology on individual levels and other times when students are collaborating on projects around a laptop.

Our 28 hard plastic chairs are very uncomfortable to sit on all day and don’t give us ways to move. New padded task chairs and tractor stools can both swivel and move around the room for all of our learning.
