Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diagnosed with autism and will be entering a completely new environment. I want to set up a sensory corner in the classroom where during free time or to calm down they have a safe space to go to. This will help ensure the students safety and give the students the sensory input they need. This will be used everyday and the students will be able to get the sensory needs. I can just imagine the smiles on the students faces.

My Project

The students need to get sensory breaks in order to focus during learning. The bean bags chair will give the students somewhere to go where they can relax and look at the sensory toys. Some of the students come in tired and just want to lay down. This will be a good reward for the students to go on once they completed the word they needed to do. Having the bins will also help while teaching to have everything in one spot so the student doesn't have any down time. The bins will keep the class organized where the students can't just grab the objects.
