Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We as humans are constantly moving and changing our positions but what about our students? Students are typically in a desk for 5-6 hours a day. I have noticed, especially after COVID, that my students have trouble sitting in a chair all day while learning. I would love to provide them with different options to use within the classroom for some flexible seating choices. By having different seating choices for my students, it will allows students to sit where they will learn best. For some, it may be to sit on the floor and use the scoop rocker, and for others, it may be the bounce ball to help with posture. Many need the option to move around the room and pick a different spot to work.

Flexible seating will not only allow students to choose different seating options, but it would also allow those who have a hard time sitting in one spot to move around the room as they wish.

Flexible seating will help them focus in class and concentrate on the task at hand. By providing choice, students will be able to take charge and drive their own learning.
