Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a little diamond in the rough. Housing students from Pre-K to 5th grade, we have almost 900 students from all over the world.

My third grade class consists of students from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, ranging from four different continents.

For some of my students, it is the first time they have been in an English-speaking classroom. Needless to say, the learning accommodations are as varied as my students are.

The 21st Century requires classrooms equipped to match the challenges facing my students and help prepare them for their future.

My Project

In today's inclusive classrooms, equal does not mean equitable. Just because there are plastic chairs does not mean that all students will find it ideal to concentrate on the lessons.

Equitable seating for all students means that every individual will benefit from their unique learning needs.

When they are "fidgety," they can feel comfort in the wobbly chairs. Some students feel more comfortable learning, especially reading, on the floor. The foam cushions and low table will enable those students to thrive. And, of course, greet each day with "hello" as the welcome mat suggests. I chose soothing and neutral colors to calm students, making it the optimal learning environment.
