My Students

Creative and active individuals! I have an advantage because I know most of my students already. I taught second grade last year and will teach third this year so I will already be familiar with my students' needs and strengths.

This is an amazing group of kids!

They love to participate in unique projects and are very active. I had some issues last year with the students needing to be somewhere other than their desk. It would be fantastic to be able to offer them choices.

I have carefully chosen only items I felt would be most beneficial for this group of students. 30% of my class are SPED students. Many of these special kids can not sit still in a traditional classroom setting. They need to be moving in order to do their best learning. They also need to be able to feel like they can make choices about how they learn. If they feel they need to be standing, balancing (on a ball), sitting (on a tall stool or a classroom chair with a band for them to figit with), or sitting on the floor (on a wobble cushion), they should be able to choose those things.

My Project

I am confident that these unique resources will be a great benefit for my active class. I know they will be more comfortable and focused on learning. I want them to have options and unique alternatives to traditional classroom seating.

My students NEED to move around and be active to do good learning.

They enjoy getting up out of their seats and moving around the classroom. I would love to be able to offer them some special seating to choose from. I know some will choose to stand, some will want to sit, and others will need to kneel or recline.
