Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love teaching kindergarten! Every year when I meet my new class I am so excited to see their young eager faces ready to learn. The best part is to see how far they have come on day 180. I love seeing them as they grow all the way through high school. I have been teaching for 20 years and all 20 years have been at the same school. It is great to see them grow through the years at our elementary school, then move on to the middle school and then on to the high school. Watching them grow is the most rewarding feeling and is why I love my job!

My Project

Not all students learn in the same way. One child may be more productive sitting in a desk while another student may need a seat that allows him or her a little more freedom. I am requesting wobble chairs, donut balls and balance balls to aid these students that need a different seating choice to do their best work. Students that are comfortable in their learning environment are focused, calm and productive.

By donating to our project you will be helping the students to become independent learners in an environment where they feel comfortable.

I believe I, as an educator, should adapt my classroom to meet all types of learners that come through my classroom doors. It is my hope that having these different types of seats available to my students will aid them in their learning and allow them the freedom to learn in a comfortable and inviting environment.
