This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my 4 Gifted classrooms Reading Olympics is one of the favorite activities. Students are committed to read the 10 annual books and complete the 2 "Trials" (projects that go along with the annual theme) and they love the challenge! This project will help create an even more welcoming environment to motivate them toward their goal.

Students love a cozy spot almost as much as they love a great book!

In my 4 years of teaching Reading Olympics, students have "fought" over the singular comfy chair in my 4 Gifted classrooms. So much so that we've had to put the chairs on a schedule! These new chairs and floor pillows will allow students to move about the classroom and get comfortable while diving into a great book.
