This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow for my students to have various options to choose where they would like to work. During differentiated instruction, independent work, or silent reading, students would often flock to my "Calm Corner," a reserved part of the room where student would lay down to complete their work. Having Kore Teen Active Chairs would be an enriching addition to the Calm Corner. This would allow students to be more engaged in the work, encourages autonomy, as they how they would like to sit, and increase their motivation. Also, for myself, a mobile laptop desk would allow me to circulate around the classroom more efficiently. I have use my laptop anywhere in the classroom as opposed to frequently traveling to and from my desktop.
The products that I have chosen will allow my students to function more efficiently throughout the school.
Having materials like colored pencils, crayons, construction paper, and markers will allow my students to tap into their creativity. One of my goals for this year is more reading and language arts more creative and expressive. I have noticed that my students possess various types of artistry. Having these material will help them create limitless kinds of art.
Lastly, utilizing materials like wipes for cleanliness, anchor chart papaer for literacy enrichment, and dry erase materials will enhance the safeness and functionality of the classroom.
