Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of wise, strong, zealous children who arrive every day to school and have a passion to learn. Each child in my classroom comes to school to gain knowledge and is ready for engaging hands-on learning activities.

Our school is located in East Los Angeles.

A majority of our community is in a low socioeconomic status neighborhood. The community faces many challenges, however, the students find a way to shine through. They arrive at school ready to learn with what they have.

My students are especially interested to express themselves through artistic means. This includes visual and performing arts. Besides art, the students have a strong enthusiasm for math. They are intelligent and prepared to take on challenges. I feel extremely lucky to work with this unique bunch of students and hope to provide for them the materials they deserve.

My Project

The bouncy bands will help bring movement to the classroom. My students need the extra movement to be able to focus on their assignments ahead. When the body speeds up, the mind slows down. by having the students move more in class, they would be able to center their attention on the learning that is taking place.

With more art in the classroom, the students would be able to strengthen their focus, develop their fine motor skills, and diversify the classroom.

The art supplies would benefit my students by bringing their ideas to life. They would be able to express themselves through color and visual arts.
