Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a fabulous elementary school. Recently, we have been designated as a Gold STEAM school. I would like to continue our STEAM adventure for this new school year with my fourth graders. Math and science will be infused to show they go hand-in-hand with reading and writing. I want to introduce them to programs like Discovery Learning to supplement their science text. We have an incredible robotics program in the school and enrichment programs that encourage students in these subject areas. I'm excited to show students how these subjects are interdisciplinary.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' various learning styles. They will have access to the double sided dry erase board for their small group instruction. Anchor charts will also be displayed on the easel to provide differentiated instruction. With the 2-shelves, students would be able to keep their writing binders organized to help them from having their pages ripped out from being stuffed into their desks. They will have easy accessibility to their binders with all resources present.

A positive learning environment contributes to success.

A rug for the library center would encourage students to read beyond their desks. It would help them be more engaged with books and encourage reading.
