Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students who are curious, kind, smart, and funny. As a first-year teacher, I want to ensure that I can provide them with a safe and comfortable classroom, as well as the necessary tools to help them explore and learn about the world around them.

My Project

These seating options will help ensure students have the flexibility to work independently while safely socially distancing.

I want my students to have a fabulous fifth grade.

As a first year teacher, I want to establish a safe and enriched classroom experience and having seating options for students to have a choice allows for independence and flexibility. Students enjoy finding a corner to read and the seat cushions and stools will allow them to do that.

Laminated resources will allow us to reuse individual checklists and rubrics on our clipboards as we work towards our reading and writing goals.

The folders will help my students to stay organized by subject and will allow them to easily distinguish which one is needed based on the color. Individual supplies are especially important so as to eliminate the need to share supplies.

Fidget chair bands are wonderful for students to use when they need to be seated for an extended time during a lesson. This will eliminate students fidgeting around in their seats and helps them to remain focused.

Having a healthy snack on hand helps students grab a quick snack during an afternoon brain break.

Having the resources students need to allow for group work while also socially distancing is crucial during this pandemic school year. Individual supplies are essential so that students can work independently in a safe and supportive environment.
