Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Diversity! That's what I love about the school where I teach. My students come from all around the world and from different cultures.
Our students are hungry to learn and love growing as scholars.
For most of our students school is the safest place for them to be. They know this is a place where they will be loved and will learn. Our students come from so many different places such as Africa, Asia, Mexico and all over the United States. These students speak more than 10 differnet languages. Also 97% of our students are receiving free or reduced-price lunches. These students do not have a chance to have very many life experiences or technology in their homes and rely on us to give them these things at school.
My Project
There are so many things my students need to be successful in life. They need to know how to be flexible and think outside the box. We do many things on the computer and the headphones we currently use are hanging on by a thread. They have used them for 4 years and are in desperate need of some good sturdy headphones to work on their math and reading lessons. My ESL students need these headphones to work through the lessons to help build their Engilsh skills.
My students also need STEM activities to boost their critical thinking skills.
They need hands on magnets and building sticks to discover 3D shapes and think outside the box with all things they can build. The magnetic boards will help with word word, building phonics skills and a million other small group activities.
I would also love to give some of my little wiggle bodies a chance to move around and not distract themselves or others. Seveal of my students need to move to concentrate and think. They need wobble cushions to keep moving and working at the same time.
