Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fifth grade students at BES are creative, inspired, and capable of academic success. They strive to do their best in the classroom by using the tools provided for them. Ninety-three percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Over 35% of my students receive educational assistance from Special Education or English as a second language programs.

A traditional classroom environment works for some students, but most students need flexibility in their learning.

Basic tables and chairs, required assessments, less recess times, and lives stimulated by video games combine to develop students who are constantly moving and need optional seating.

My Project

Flexible seating arrangements have proven to be very useful with students in my school. The flex seating will definitely benefit the students in my classroom.

Exercise balls, cushions, wiggle seats, stools, and fidget bands will give many options for my students to help them focus during class.

These choices will meet their movement needs.

I am excited for my students to be allowed numerous seating choices during instruction, rotations, group times, and independent work times. My goal is to improve success on assignments, positive behaviors, and overall focus.

My students and I will appreciate any assistance given to meet our classroom goals.
