Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an urban district where the majority of our students qualify for free and reduced breakfast and lunch. I have a special education classroom that includes students with Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, ADD, ADHD and Emotionally Disturbed. My students are from a variety of economic backgrounds.

My students come to school every day ready to learn and eager to be engaged.

They put forth their best effort every day and are active participants in their own learning. I am continually looking for new ways to keep them invested in their education.

My Project

My students love to come into my classroom and work in small group with me or work independently. Currently, my classroom does not have this ability.

Adding a Collaborative Work Space Table and Flex Seating Chairs will give students even more options to work collaboratively or independently, as well as space to "take a break" when the rigors of the day are overwhelming them.

A moveable circle table will give my students a place to work independently, collaborate with peers and have a quiet space to calm down. My students love to pick where they can complete their work and now they will have an option on where to do that!
