My Students

At my school, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, we have a range of students that are on a multitude of levels and abilities. These students participate in the Reading Trailblazers program that pushes and motivates them to reach their reading goals each and everyday. These students come to school knowing school will be exciting and that this school is a safe place for them to achieve their goals.

My Project

Fourth grade should be fun! I want students to be excited about silent reading, whole group lessons, and class discussions. A wireless microphone, laser pointers, and flashlights will be great ways to get students excited about silent reading and actively participating in whole group discussions and lessons.

I want to encourage students to engage in classroom discussions by providing novelty items that will make it fun!

The laser pointers will allow students to speak without having their backs to their classmates by giving them the tool to point at the board or anchor charts around the room without physically using their fingers. This will also allow them to participate in whole group lessons without even leaving their seats! The wireless microphone will encourage students to share the ideas during class discussions. Fridays are now going to be flashlight Fridays! Each students will get a flashlight to use during silent reading and throughout the day to make Fridays even more special!

I am so excited about this opportunity! If my classroom projects funds, my students will be able to be even more engaged in whole group lessons and discussions, and excited about flashlight Fridays! Thank you for any support you are able to offer our awesome classroom!
