Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low-income, high-mobility school that is Title I. This means all of our children receive free breakfast and lunch during the school day. We have a diverse population and serve children and families from many different cultures.

The students at our school are sweet and crave positive interactions and for someone to show a genuine interest in them.

They are eager to learn new things and love to share what they have learned with others. These students need positive role models in their lives to introduce them to the wonders of the world around them.

My Project

When you have only had seven years of experience, everything is a distraction. My students sometimes have a hard time sitting still to complete their work in class. Sometimes this not only interferes with their learning but the learning of their classmates. I like to provide options for students to find seating that fits their learning style the best.

Meeting the basic needs of my students is the best way to support the success of every lesson.

These bean bags, bean bag refill beads, and floor work trays will give my students the opportunities to choose seating for themselves that will allow them the freedom to wiggle around a bit while they complete tasks and classwork without disturbing the students around them. This will help to increase not only their focus but will support the focus and attention of their classmates as well.
