Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will be learning the importance of using the five senses as a scientist, as well as trying to stay healthy by being more aware of germs. Students tend to get sick easily at the beginning of the school year as they begin to build their immune systems. They need to learn about how to stay healthy with a simple science unit about germs.

Our Magnet school does a daily STEM hour, so my young kindergarten and first grade students are just beginning to learn about what it means to be a scientist.

They will be exploring many science topics with read-alouds and hands-on projects. I want them to know how to observe and explore by using each of their senses.
