My Students

All of my students are English Learners. Their primary language is Spanish and we work hard daily to ensure their second language is developing. My goal is to help all of my students meet the requirements that will help them exit the English Learner program and be identified as English Proficient.

My students are also socioeconomically disadvantaged with 100% of them receiving free meals.

Many of my students have limited experiences and therefore I aim to provide them with fun and unique opportunities that will help them acquire the meet the standards while developing their English Language. The funding of this project will help to achieve this goal.

My Project

My students would love to engage in an actual soccer match complete with soccer goals. They have often expressed a desire to have real goals instead of playing with cones. Unfortunately the black top on our schools field does not come equipped with one. One of their favorite topics of discussion is soccer including their favorite teams and players. Therefore, having this equipment and other high interest equipment (i.e. volleyball and flag football) will make a difference in students' engagement during physical education and improve their level of physical fitness. Additionally, fourth grade physical education standards such as dribbling the ball with their feet as well as volleying would be addressed.
