This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My student-athletes are hard working, smart, skilled and love to excel on and off the basketball court. At our campus, all of the student-athletes (Boys and Girls) display a tremendous amount of school spirit and are extremely proud to represent our campus. We currently have 13 sports teams that participate in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL).

My students are focused on striving to attend college and participating in positive activities such as sports and fitness.

The goal is to get more training equipment and uniforms so that our student-athletes can train to get better. We are limited in the resources we have and there isn't funding available for us to utilize.

My Project

Both the boys and girls basketball teams will primarily utilize the equipment to prepare for game play versus other schools in the public school athletic league (PSAL). The materials will be also used for preseason and offseason workouts. The equipment will help student-athletes at the Brandeis Campus train and become well conditioned for their perspective sports. This will allow for coaches to teach the proper techniques of physical fitness and stretching.

The student-athletes will be better conditioned, get stronger and learn how to prevent injuries once they are trained with the high level equipment.

The resistance bands will be utilized for stretching and strength training. The bosu ball will be used for abdominal and core work. The pads will be for the student-athletes to improve their balance. The foam rollers are to massage muscle areas that are tight, strained or sore.
