My Students

Each of my students is unique and special in their own way. They are an amazing group of young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related disorders. One of the challenges that many of my students face is self-regulation.

Many of my students walk into class each morning fueled with a great amount of energy, which can really disrupt their academic day.

Offering them a healthy way to expend their energy will help them stay focused and engaged.

My Project

Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder often need individualized physical activity to assist with self-regulation and focus. Having a trampoline and a stationary bike will allow me to expand my Motor Lab to better address the needs of many of my students who would benefit from these two pieces of equipment.

A fit body equals a fit mind.

This is what I am hoping to accomplish with adding new equipment to my program. A stationary bike and trampoline will not only provide a form of exercise for my students, but it will also allow them to build balance and provide vestibular input that many of my students seek.
