As part of my ongoing transformation of my classroom into a sensory-friendly space, I am requesting a few specialized fidgets.
In particular, we are requesting spiky silicone fish and small hand held aquariums.
COVID really did a whammy on our students. Many of them still suffer from restlessness and an inability to focus for extended periods of time. The silicone fish, ducks and bows are designed to soothe students' nerves. I will keep the items in baskets, so that any student can access them at any time.
The floating fish aquariums fit in the palm of the hand. They are soothing to watch. Thank you for helping us out with our project. When students are agitated, they can't focus. These fidgets will help students to calm themselves and move forward with their learning.
More than half of students from low‑income households
