First Year Teaching First Graders

My Project

I've been a TA at this school for 5 years and have built wonderful relationships with the kids. Last year, I took over a kinder class because of a medical leave. This year, after completing the first part of my credential and recieving my own classroom, I'm fortunate enough to continue teaching the same students in the first grade. This would be my first year as a teacher. I will have an inclusive classroom with various learning needs. My classroom is new and bare, and I'm a new teacher, so this money would help me get the essentials for a new class like a sorting cart, supply bins, student work bins, teaching resources and manipulatives. I'm excited, but I also want to make sure these kids have everything they need and my new classroom becomes a beautiful, welcoming learning environment. I'm working hard to do everything I can, but with growing budget cuts, I'm forced to somehow get most of it done on my own. Thanks for your amazing support of education.

Donation use: The sorting drawers will organize weekly claswork by day and have emergency sub plans.

The chair pockets will be used by the students to store their daily work before taking home, and for class workbooks. The bins/caddies will be used for pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks and scissors to be placed on group desks to be used for daily work. The dry erase pouches will be used/reused for rotation station work such as playdoh letters and elkonin boxes. The dice will be used to teach math and do math classwork. The laminator will be used for classroom posters and to use/reuse for classwork using expo markers. The manipulatives/toys will be used in rotation stations, such as making letters playdoh, or for Friday choice time/discovery time.
