Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This will be my first year teaching kindergarten in the upcoming school year! I am beyond excited to start my teaching journey teaching a grade I love. With this project, I hope to give my students the tools they need to succeed in their first year of school.

I've included activities and toy sets that will allow my students to participate in dramatic play and practice their social skills.

Dramatic play, and the additional toys and games, will spark my students' creativity and positively impact their social and emotional skills, such as learning to problem-solve, relationship-building, and empathy. These skills are essential in kindergarten, especially since most of my students have never been in school, or are new to the country. It will also allow them to enjoy being at school and be eager to engage in math and reading stations.

Within my list, I've added organizational materials and supplies that will make my classroom run smoothly and create a welcoming environment. The drawers, caddies, and zipper pouches will allow me to provide students with supplies they can grab on their own which will help them practice being independent.
