Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
To explain a Dual Language Collaboratorium, essentially it's two classes placed in a larger classroom where both teachers are present with a paraprofessional. As one teacher leads a subject the other is also there for support, conducting small group, bridging, etc. With these two classes together there would be 40+ students in the classroom at a time.
With this being my first year as a teacher I don't have many materials to fill the classroom so this would be an amazing start.
The educational games will help students in practicing and gaining skills in reading comprehension as they build on their English language proficiency. The additional games are for down times like indoor recess, playtime, etc. This will allow students to work together and socialize. There's also the inclusion of fun erasers that can be used as a reward for the students. I added the wooden mailboxes for organization, knowing that they'd be long lasting and could be used year after year.
