Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a first year teacher at a Title 1 school, I am hoping to bring many new interactive lessons to my fourth grade classroom to get students involved and excited about learning.

My students come from a high poverty area, and our school qualifies as a Title 1 campus.

Because of this, they don't always get to experience things most of us are used to because their parents are struggling to put food on the table as it is. As a first year teacher, I'm trying to broaden each student's base of knowledge to help them become more well-rounded individuals, and these materials will help us very much!

My Project

These resources we have requested are aimed at improving the way we can work on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills in our curriculum. Hopefully a more enjoyable approach to these science and math lessons will help spark and interest in these areas so students will pursue careers in these fields.

With the US struggling to improve our math and science curriculum in order to catch up to the Asian and European countries, every little bit that we can do with the younger students to foster a sense of excitement in these subjects will help us get just a little bit closer to our goal.
