Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a special energetic group. Their education has had a rocky start due to the pandemic, most of them did not attend regular pre-school or kindergarten classes due to school closures. For the majority of my class this is their first full year in a regular classroom. They are not only learning how to read, add and subtract, but they are learning how to raise their hands when they need to ask questions and sit quietly to complete their tasks. Seventeen of my students tested low in reading when starting this semester, the requested reading resources will directly help them pick books that are at their level and give them a strong foundation to move forward. The pocket chart frame will allow me to post the sight words for the week at the students eye level. It will also allow them to move words around and play with sentence creation. The math resources will allow my students to actively learn while having fun.
