My students are my teachers, I learn from them every day. Every day they teach me how to be a better teacher. Each child is unique with different abilities, interests, and ways of learning and playing. My goal is to create a learning environment around trust and respect; where all students feel comfortable taking risks, being themselves and making learning fun. And most importantly the individual needs of every child are met.
All students can learn and succeed, but not on the same day in the same way.

My Project
This is my first time teaching in an Integrated Co-Teaching Classroom setting. An Integrated Co-Teaching is a classroom in which a general education and a special education teacher jointly provide instruction to a class that has students with and without disabilities. Our goal, through specially designed instruction, is to prepare lessons, activities, and projects that are multi-sensory, across the content area and differentiated to meet the individual needs and strengths of all students. The structure of this classroom setting is to create positive social and academic outcomes for students with or without disabilities. The materials I requested will help with the individual needs and learning styles of the students in my class. Some children are visual, kinesthetic or auditory learners. For example, I've included books on tape (auditory), blocks, magnetic tiles and stamps and dough (tactile) etc. These items along with others in my cart are helping to set up my students for success this year. I've also included some organizational items that will help maintain routines and structure in the classroom. These resources assist in the learning outcomes for each individual learner. My job as an educator is to make the curriculum accessible to all students through all different learning styles, and the resources requested will help me do so!
