My Students

Our school is located near one of the largest and busiest shipping ports in the world. The student population at our school is very diverse. Over 80% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are part of a close knit community in a big city with a small town vibe. My students are very proud of our school and the community they live in.

My students are very curious and eager learners.

They come to school every day prepared to learn and full of enthusiasm. They love learning new things!

My Project

This will be the first time I teach coding with robots to my students. With the Ozobot EVO Educator Entry Kit that includes the Educator Bot Camp, I will be able to learn how to teach my students the different ways of coding. My students will then be able to use the extra Ozobots on their own. The Ozobots will show my students how to code without a computer. The Artie 3000 Coding Robot will be used in conjunction with Chromebooks we have in our classroom. This will show my students how to code with a computer program. The Kids First Coding and Robotics Kit will teach my students the commands of coding. This will teach my students how to program the robots to interact.

This project will give my students the opportunity to learn about coding for the very first time.

With this opportunity and early introduction in 2nd grade, I hope that my students will be inspired to learn more computer sciences.
