My Students

FRC 5431: Titan Robotics was founded in 2014 at the Plano ISD Academy High School. FIRST Robotics Competition is part of the FIRST organization, where FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. It was created to inspire students of all levels to understand, use, and enjoy science and technology. Today, 90% of FIRST alumni are pursuing a career in STEM fields.

As a team, Titan Robotics strives to develop student leaders by collaborating to solve complex problems, to learn from our experiences, and to work with other teams to secure our future success.

Our team was the first FIRST team in our district, and we are proud to see how much the Robotics program has grown in Plano ISD since our rookie season in 2014.

My Project

As we grow as a team, we've noticed that our robots are in need of repair, and learned that we can reflect, redesign, and rebuild our previous robots to help grow our newest team members and keep them functional for years to come. Many of our previous seasons' robots go to outreach events, including local STEM Nights, Maker Faires, and even a minor league baseball game!

Between repairing and maintaining older robots and building new ones, robots require a lot of parts!

While we can easily find some parts locally, it can be difficult to source certain products and get them in time to complete and compete in the year’s challenge. With this obstacle in mind, we are asking for your help in sourcing them. LEXAN is an important component, as we cannot build our entire robot out of sheet metal - the weight would be way above the competition’s limit, and the wire helps transmit electrons throughout the circuitry that makes the robot complete any of the different tasks in the game!
