This bright group of students enjoy learning in unique ways. Therefore, we are participating in the FIRST LEGO League Jr. project as an extended learning opportunity. Each year, students complete a LEGO-based project to expand their knowledge base and develop life-long skills.
Project-based learning opportunities like LEGO League allow students to develop research and problem-solving skills.
Communication skills are also built as the students collaborate and negotiate ideas in the decision-making process. Additionally, students apply critical thinking skills and creativity to find a unique solution.
As you can see, this project is booming with imagination, creativity, and real-world problem-solving. My students will benefit in many areas of the curriculum.
My Project
We are participating in the FIRST LEGO League Jr. Project Boomtown Build as an extended learning opportunity. In order to complete this exciting project, we need additional learning materials related to this year's theme. The students are required to build an innovative LEGO building that will serve an important purpose in our local community. We are looking to add on accessories to make the LEGO kits we already have extend to this year's theme.
Teams will help to imagine and create a new building that solves a problem and makes life easier, happier, or more connected for the citizens who use it.
First, the teams will research and explore the growing needs and challenges of the people in our community. Next, the students will collaborate to find one solution they can all agree upon. Lastly, the final project will be the creation of a new structure that serves the local community in a unique way.
