My Students

My 29 students are an inquisitive, enthusiastic, and lively group of gifted and talented first graders. They come in everyday ready to tackle, explore, and investigate a variety of topics at school whether it's understanding number sense, writing social justice letters, or investigating edible bugs.

Our classroom is a team full of lots of different members with unique personalities and talents.

We are constantly collaborating with each other on different projects and although sometimes we may disagree, we all have the common goal of helping and learning from one another.

My Project

Since we are in a New York City public school where classes are oversized and space is limited, teachers are always trying to find creative ways to utilize space. I'm requesting these products because they will allow students to store and organize their materials in the most efficient way. I am asking for 29 Aussie Pouch Organizers for storing books and folders at their seats, 29 Creative Teaching Press storage books for storing books that they will borrow from our classroom library every week, and an OfficeDesigns Economy filing cabinet for storing student work, along with Smead Hanging File Folders.

Your donations will help build greater self-esteem in our students, knowing they have personal space to organize and store all of their important work.

Students will also learn valuable organizational skills, thus allowing them to take greater ownership of their learning. Additionally, these products can also be used again year after year, benefiting future students as well!
