My Project

This is my first year teaching first grade. As I am looking at the curriculum, I am noticing that I am missing materials that will be needed for future lessons. We also need more general math manipulatives. For lessons from our specific math program, we can use owl posters for measurement, number lines, a variety of double sided counters for math games and magnetic counters so I can model those games on our magnetic board, a math talk poster and place value cards. We could also use a counting bingo game, a magnetic 1-120 chart, and magnets that show greater than, less than, and equal to. We also love learning about coins and their values in our class, so we could use a set of plastic coins to practice paying with coins. We will use these materials daily.
