This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to be 6 years old and stuck in a desk? It's no fun! My students love to get up and move and sing with fun music. They don't even realize they're still learning something!
I have 18 amazing first graders!
This class is one of my favorite classes ever, and I REALLY mean that! They are fun, high-spirited, sweet, caring, generous, and super smart! They LOVE to learn. I know because they tell me they do. We are a Title I, low income school, but my students don't let that stop them from putting forth their best effort. This class has responded really well to music, but my collection is very limited.
My Project
These Dr. Jean Cd's will make 18 cute little faces light up with smiles! Dr. Jean will help break up the monotony of the day and allow the children to express themselves through movement, simultaneously learning a variety of subjects, from alphabet sounds to continents.
My project is important to me because my students are important to me.
I truly love them. Making learning fun at this age helps to create a lifelong love of learning. Students will retain information longer when it is in the form of a song than they will just by seeing it on paper. Everyone remembers the states song, right?
