Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Reading is FUNdamental for my students! They love to read in school and at home. Reading all the time will help make them better readers.

I teach at a school in East Harlem and my students mostly come from low income households.

Some of their families live in shelters. The stories of their lives would break your heart. But on the other hand they are loving, caring, wonderful kids who love to come to school. My first graders love to read and take books home.

My Project

With the fiction and non fiction sight word readers my students will be able to practice reading and building their sight word vocabulary. They will be able to take books home in their very own book buddy baggy that will keep their cherished books like new.

Please help my classroom and my students get the books they need that will help to make them better readers and bring joy to their lives.

I am asking for your donations to help get these books for my students. It would mean so much to them!
