My Students

Do you remember what it was like to be in first grade? The spelling patterns, learning to read and write, addition, subtraction, and much more. My students are in need of hands-on materials that are educational and fun. Unfortunately, I do not have the resources on hand.

My students attend a low income school in the state of California.

95% of the students in this school are English Language Learners. Most of the students receive free or reduced price lunch. These students need hands-on materials because they are visual and kinesthetic learners.

My Project

This is my first year as a first grade teacher. I am requesting math manipulatives, word work folder games, and bingo games- that target different concepts from letters and sounds to numbers and operations. These will help me set up learning centers that are educational and fun. The hands-on materials will educate my students in reading, writing, and math. They can be used in small-group, whole-group, or independently.

Learning centers can be an exciting addition to a classroom.

These centers will make a difference because children like fun and engaging materials that will support their learning. It promotes responsibility, independence, and allows opportunity for self-discovery.
