My Students

I teach in a rural community in the Midwest.

My first grade students are eager to learn about the world around them. They are curious, as learners should be. We approach our STEM projects with wonder. The students love using CODE and Scratch Jr. during our computer science time.

My Project

I want to create opportunities for my students to take coding off of the screen and into the world of robotics. Ozobot robots are color and line reading robots. The students will love the versatility of the Makey Makey. They will use blockly to code Dot and Dash. I want them to use the materials to solve problems.

Donations to this project will help my students gain experiences with materials that will enhance their understanding of engineering with these devices that respond to sensory input.

First grade students CAN be successful in the field of robotics.
