My Students

I moved from NYC to Pennsylvania just a year ago and will be working at a public school near the city of Pittsburgh. Our school has limited funding available. My students come from diverse backgrounds and hard-working families. The school is a small K-4 elementary school and does have funding to put towards classroom furniture and supplies.

My new classroom will be with amazing first graders who will be adapting to this new way of COVID classroom life!

I have a lot of supplies and books appropriate for upper elementary and nothing for the 6 & 7-year-olds I’ll be teaching this year.

I would really love to get some age-appropriate books to put in the hands of my students to help them love reading as much as I do.

My Project

I will be teaching first grade for the first time in my 17 year career! Anyone who knows me knows that I love my library, but right now my books are for Upper Elementary students and I need to revamp my library.

I want to help my littles love reading even in the time of COVID by having new books in our classroom library that are appropriate for first graders.

I know I'll have a wide range of reading levels in my classroom and am requesting high-interest books at different levels.
