Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This will be my first year teaching first graders! Please help me and my students start the year off right with the supplies we need to be successful.

In first grade, students are strengthening their writing skills.

They will be using the donated crayons and pencils to practice writing and illustrating their ideas. Many times students get restless writing in their seats all day, so my classroom has flexible seating options. My bean bags are a classroom favorite! Sadly, they are beginning to flatten and need filler so my students are able to utilize the bean bags for another year.

In order to teach and address the learning needs in our classroom, we will need to be organized by having any markers and manipulatives ready at the front of the classroom. The magnetic organizer will be used to hold and organize any teaching manipulatives we will need for lessons each day.

Lastly, I use a clip chart in my classroom for students to be able to visually manage their behavior throughout the day. The stamps and ink will be used in their agendas at the end of each school day to mark their behavior for their parents to see, as well as to enhance students learning community.
