My Project

As a teacher of 22 years, it is so exciting to still have my share of "firsts" when it comes to my career. I have taught 2nd through 5th grade through the years, but never had the opportunity to work in an early childhood setting. This year, I have the pleasure of working with first grade for the first time.

So far it has been, well, exhausting, honestly.

But in a really fun way! I have quickly realized that students this young need help with maintaining focus while learning and what better way to help them do that than by learning through play?

The goal of this project is to gather several games and activities that I know the children will love. I want to get away from paper packets and put game pieces into their hands. I want them to get excited about their time at school and look forward to learning time with friends.

Thank you for contributing to this goal as it can get rather expensive to try and provide quality materials and games to the kids. Through the years, I have gathered many games but they are all for older students! This will help me find some age-appropriate activities and games for my first graders.
