This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Yes, you may read a lot of books about butterflies and life cycles, but what can be more exciting than witnessing nature's miracle right in front of your eyes?

My students are concrete young learners.

They learn by discovering, and many do not have the opportunity to do so. They love science, especially animals. They are practicing artists, readers, writers and soon to be scientists. They benefit from motivating experiences.

My Project

This butterfly kit and materials I am requesting will be a dream come true for my students! They have learned a great deal from reading books about butterflies. They even wrote their first research report on this topic. We plan on documenting the stages of the butterfly. Also, the sentences strips I have requested will help us write about the experience. We have also requested a life cycles book library to extend our knowledge, and art materials so we can integrate art into our science study of animals.

These resources will allow the students to have a meaningful learning experience by providing a hands-on experience.

We also plan on releasing the butterflies in the wild to celebrate!
