Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are humbled by and appreciative of the little things. Many of them do not own books at home. They are fascinated with new books and love to be in our class library. School wide, 95% of the students qualify for free/reduced lunch. I have 48 students I see daily and 46 of them are are English Learners.
My students absolutely love learning to read and take AR tests.
We have created a college bound atmosphere and my students are building a foundation that will help prepare them for their future. I am humbled to be a part of their educational journey.
My Project
This project means more to me than books. I never had books growing up nor did my any of my classrooms. I was not exposed to reading and never enjoyed it. It seemed like work. Today, I have been educated in the importance of reading and I have been fueled with passion to help create lifelong readers in my classroom.
My students will have equal opportunity and will be exposed to a genre of popular books!
I want to have the coolest and most organized library around. My students take significant pride in our library! I have to draw names because they all want to help label new books I purchase and organize them. I have future authors, illustrators, publishers and they told me they would give me free books for the library so future students can use them!
Honestly, I spent close to $2,000 on books/ supplies/ racks and will continue to do so. But I realized a lot of little hands use these books and the wear and tear. I would appreciate your generosity to help me help my students.
