My Students

My students are enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program, which is a part of the Special Education Department. Each student has an education plan to outline their individual goals. My class is designed to help some of the smallest learners in our district achieve their social, emotional, individual, and academic goals. Some students in the ECSE program are nonverbal, while some communicate through speech, sign language, and/or communication devices.

Each of my students is unique and spectacular in their own way!

My students learn through sensory activities, hands-on instruction, songs, and learning through play. Their smiles and whimsical giggles let me know they are enjoying what they are learning. We spend each day focusing on meeting our learning goals and having fun while we do it!

My Project

My students are working on strengthening their fingers and fine tuning their fine motor skills! Fine motor skills help students with coordination and builds up their stamina as they concentrate on getting the fine motor tasks completed. These skills will be important as students begin writing. It is important that students have developed their skills so they are able to control utensils that they will use throughout their educational journey and into adulthood. The materials in this project will allow us to get to work on creating firm fingers through fine motor practice!
